We Need Each Other Now as Much as Ever

Dr. Noah K. Goldstein, DACM L.Ac.

First and foremost, we want to extend our hearts to everyone navigating the impacts of the recent wildfires. There’s no way to describe the breadth and intensity of experiences people are going through right now. We need each other now as much as ever.

We are ourselves in our own whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. How can we best help others has been the first impulse of activation, quickly followed by how we ourselves can get grounded and process what’s moving through our own hearts and minds. How do we maintain a sense of stability and safety for our young ones?

Right now, it’s more questions than answers. One step at a time, one foot in front of the next. With deep breaths, and when we can, small pauses.

Leading up to the New Year we spent time reflecting on the past two years. What a ride it’s been. One of the results of the tumult had been a quietness and shifting of focus. Even a degree of contraction. A healthy listening to what’s needed in terms of ebbs and flows.

We’re now feeling ready to re-extend ourselves. One of the ways we’ll be doing that is rebooting Mood Boost Mondays.

Amidst the grief of the post-Marshall Fire in our Front-Range community, perhaps “mood boost” isn’t exactly the aim. Perhaps for this week, and the weeks to come, we’re looking at “Mood Movement” and Expression. We’ll do our best to honor that with the music.

Finally, we want you to know that we are here to support you. Acupuncture can be incredibly effective to help reset the nervous system, to give the mind and body respite from the stress and angst we experience during times like these. The right herbal formula can help ground and hold our hearts in a way that supports our process. Therapy or therapeutic coaching can support us in our process to gain clarity and feel more grounded. I’m mentioning these because I want to make sure we’re all aware of the tools available.

If you or someone you know was directly impacted by the fires:

  • I’m offering free acupuncture sessions

  • Postpartum Wellness Center: 4 weeks of free therapy for mothers. (info@pwcboulder.com)

If you’re looking for ways to help I highly recommend the Boulder Reporting Lab as a go-to source of info.

So, take 15 minutes to listen to this music, if your body wants to move along to the beats and melodies, great.

Take me to Mood Movement

With warm open hearts,

Noah and Rachael
